Great News
The Santa Anna National Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
FDIC's definition of noninterest-bearing transaction accounts includes our Regular Checking and Senior Checking account products. Our NOW Account and SuperNOW account products are also included, with the provision that the interest rate does not exceed .50%, which is the rate currently in effect. The definition excludes our MMDA, Savings, and Certificate of Deposit accounts. However, the excluded accounts are still insured up to the $250,000.
If you have a sweep arrangement in connection with a noninterest-earning checking account you have with us which involves the transfer of funds to an interest-earning account that does not qualify for full coverage under the FDIC transaction account guarantee program, this action would void the FDIC's guarantee with respect to the swept or transferred funds. However, funds held in interest-earning accounts that pay more than .50% will continue to be insured through June 30, 2010, for up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
Banks are not required to participate in this program, but we have made this choice to provide our customers with the highest level of protection available. If you have any questions regarding this program, do not hesitate to contact us, or visit the FDIC website at www.fdic.gov.
